Conceived in a classroom at ASU and then successfully funded on Kickstarter, Bosse Tools delivers a patented ergonomic handle for long-stemmed tools. The founders approached me to lead the design and development of their revolutionary product and new brand.
Part of my role was to shoot all new photography for the brand. This included a lifestyle shoot showcasing the product in use as well as studio photography focusing on the ergonomic benefits and the beautiful details of the ground breaking new product dubbed one of Popular Science's "10 Best Things of 2014".
When the guys from Bosse approached me, they had little more than a brand name, an underdeveloped prototype and a successful kickstarter project. I redesigned the physical products aesthetic and worked alongside their engineer to make sure the product would stand out on the shelves and be remembered while remaining ultra strong, light and durable. The new logos were designed with the handles and grips in mind.
As a part of the intitial marketing effort I was engaged to produce and direct a 60 second commercial spot. I brought in Ben Maher to help with copywriting and storyboarding and Loren Brinton as D.P. to shoot and edit. We aimed to inspire rather than focus on features of the product.
Ultimately, all our design and brand efforts were wrapped up in an eCommerce website with a focus on the photography, a bold color palette and strong typography.
